What NOT to do on your social media...

A few days ago we went over what you should do, so now let's talk about what you can skip over. If you apply these changes to your social media strategy, it'll only help with your growth.

First off, let's talk about fear. Some people tend to overthink what others will say if you post something, start your own business, or basically put yourself out there in any way. If you love your product, but are not sure what others will think, post it! Your passion will show through your post, and in turn that'll make prospective customers interested in why you love it so much. Don't let fear hold you back!

Next, don't post low quality photos. This doesn't mean invest in an expensive camera, backdrop, and ring light. Nowadays, with some practice you can amazing photos with just your iPhone. Buy some poster board, matte wrapping paper, or even tissue paper to use as your photo background! These are easy & inexpensive ways to experiment with the actual backdrop of your photos. Next, choose a well lit room to actually take the picture. Move your layout around the room, closer to the window, in direct sunlight, outside, etc. to play around until you get the lighting you want. If you want to take it another level, purchase a subscription to different editing apps, like Lightroom, to create the aesthetic that you want for your page. These tips can make the biggest difference in taking higher quality photos.

Lastly, don't be afraid to show your face. Be proud of your small business! Showcase the fact that you're family run, homemade, hand packaged, etc! With the times that we live in now, many would rather support a small business, so make sure you use that, if it applies, to your advantage! Introduce yourself, share personal tips, introduce your business with a story, and any other way that you can use to differentiate yourself from others!

Social media is ever changing, so it can be hard to keep up with the current trends. However, doing so is a great way to get your business seen! That's where we come in.
