Within minutes of announcing the Cape It Local School Supply Drive, Homestead Mortgage, A locally owned mortgage broker in Centerville MA, stepped up to donate hundreds of dollars in school supplies. Paul Beatty, Managing Partner, eagerly reached out with ideas to get involved. I asked Paul why this cause was important to him, with which he explained how impactful the Cape Cod school systems were to his family and those at Homestead Mortgage. He added, “There is a misconception that the kids on the Cape all come from extremely wealthy homes. I know from my experiences as a youth basketball coach, that there are many families in need within our community. Back-to-school shopping is an extremely stressful time for many families on the Cape.”
Within the Homestead Mortgage team there are several local contributors to many great causes. For example, Brendan Beatty, Paul’s Son, donates generously to the Art Westfall Foundation with free website contributions. Paul Capeless, Tim Bar, Brian Beatty, Christine Roberts & Steve Mele all contribute, or have contributed to youth sports with their local families. In fact, the entire staff at Homestead are local Cape Codders.
This team, having gone through the local school systems themselves and now raising their kids within our community understand that our area faces the same challenges as larger communities without the same resources. These selfless individuals are always looking to get involved, not for glory or recognition. (It was difficult to gather them for this photo) They are looking to get involved, because they are great people who care about our community.
